Fine Art Festival returns to El Dorado Hills

The Gist: The El Dorado Hills Arts Association is hosting its fourth annual Fine Art Festival this Saturday, Oct. 10, at the El Dorado Hills Library. More than 50 local and regional artists will exhibit paintings, ceramics, woodwork, and handcrafted jewelry. Enjoy live blues and jazz music from Grant Reeves and Peter Morgan, while kids create in the Kids' Zone.

Why It Matters: It is a vibrant way to celebrate regional creativity and connect directly with the artists in our community. Proceeds from the festival also help fund annual scholarships for emerging art students at Folsom Lake College.

Classic monsters invade Folsom bistro

The Gist: Bacchus House Wine Bar and Bistro in Folsom has rolled out its annual Classic Hollywood Monsters exhibit for spooky season. Running through Nov. 1, this year's display adds characters from "Planet of the Apes" and favorites like Frankenstein, Dracula, and The Mummy. Owner Eric Adams transformed the dining room with life-size movie memorabilia while keeping the entire setup family-friendly.

Why It Matters: It offers a fun chance to enjoy classic cinema nostalgia right in our own neighborhood. Families can share a meal together while surrounded by iconic pop-culture history that brings the community together through Nov. 1.
