Bay Area tech maker is expanding to El Dorado Hills

The Gist: Proteus Industries, a Mountain View company that builds flow sensors for medical scanners and car factories, just leased a building in El Dorado Hills. They are completely out of room at their Bay Area headquarters, and the new spot will double their shop floor space.

Why It Matters: The company plans to hire about 25 workers locally as it sets up shop in the Sacramento region.

Free help is open for Sacramento entrepreneurs and students

The Gist: Sacramento is backing several free training programs and accelerators to help you launch or scale a business. Growth Factory is offering free one-hour advising sessions at Aggie Square, a growth accelerator for established owners, and a spring after-school program for high schoolers that includes meals, parking, and a $200 stipend. EO Sacramento is also taking applications for its accelerator, with scholarships available through city grant funds.

Why It Matters: You can sign up for free advising on Tuesday afternoons or apply online now for the multi-month training sessions starting in early 2027.
