Prospector Park earns a regional honor

The Gist: Folsom’s Prospector Park has been named a 2026 Project of the Year by the Sacramento Chapter of the American Public Works Association. It received the honor in the Parks and Trails category.
Why It Matters: Residents helped shape the park through community meetings and surveys. The finished space transformed an undeveloped site into a welcoming neighborhood gathering place, showing what thoughtful public input can accomplish.
Nearly 400 students start school prepared
The Gist: Twin Lakes Food Bank helped nearly 400 local students, from preschool through high school, begin the year with new backpacks and school supplies.
Why It Matters: Families also received groceries, hygiene kits, books, gift cards, and access to haircuts. Community donors provided more than 400 backpacks, while Bayside Church of Folsom’s vacation Bible school raised $7,000 for the effort.

Where pints meet plant life

4363 Town Center Boulevard, Suite 110, El Dorado Hills, CA
Boring Rose Brewing Co. may be the only place in Town Center where the beer is brewed beside plants on a family farm. The taproom carries that idea indoors, with a plant shop up front, greenery throughout the room, and a waterfront patio for lingering over another round.
The Hot Honey Pepperoni pizza brings jalapeños, olives, and a sweet-spicy drizzle. The Lemon Pesto Chicken pizza piles on artichoke hearts, fresh lemon, pine nuts, and arugula. Pretzel sticks with beer cheese cover the table when nobody wants to commit to a full meal.
A cold Lost Horizon Hazy IPA, a warm pizza, and a new houseplant on the way out. Not a bad Town Center afternoon.

Skip the dealership runaround

4364 Town Center Boulevard, Suite 120, El Dorado Hills, CA
Buying a car usually means giving up an afternoon to fluorescent lights and back-and-forth negotiations. El Dorado Hills Motors was built around a different idea. Owner David Del Dotto and his team handle the shopping and negotiating, then deliver the vehicle to their Town Center Auto Lounge.
They can locate a new vehicle, arrange a lease or purchase, handle a trade-in, buy your current car, or consign something special. The consignment service includes pricing and marketing tailored to the individual vehicle, which is particularly useful for classics and harder-to-place models.
David credits his father’s 50-year legacy of integrity for the honesty-first approach. It feels less like walking into a dealership and more like having a knowledgeable local handle the difficult parts for you.
Skip the Typical Resort This Summer. Stay in a Centuries-Old Sicilian Village Instead.
Casa Gratteri offers beautifully restored homes in Gratteri, a hidden mountain town in Sicily with sweeping views, deep history, and zero crowds. Full concierge service, a private chef on request, and modern finishes throughout. This is the kind of trip people talk about for the rest of their lives.
