You may have noticed things look a little different around here. We recently switched to a new newsletter tool to make things easier on our end, and it gave us a good excuse to freshen up the design too.
The content is still the same kind of stuff you’re used to, but the new format lets us make the newsletter a little cleaner, more visual, and more fun to read.
Be sure to check out the featured home section, we're pretty proud of it!

A $6M Sac-area estate with airfield, rec center
The Gist: Kenneth Roebbelen built a hand-tool-only cabin as a UC Davis student in the 1970s on his father's El Dorado Hills land, and it evolved into a 48-acre gated estate now listed for $6 million. The property includes the original 1974 cabin, a main residence completed in 2010, a runway and hangar, helipad, spring-fed pond, and a 2024 pool house designed to look like a municipal recreation center.
Why It Matters: The listing shows what luxury real estate in the Sacramento foothills can command and reflects how family-owned construction businesses have accumulated significant land holdings in the region.
Flashing yellow arrows set to go live
The Gist: Folsom will activate flashing yellow arrow traffic signals at four Natoma Street intersections (Prison Road, Wales Drive, Stafford Street, and Coloma Street) starting Tuesday, Sept. 8. The new signals let drivers turn left after yielding to oncoming traffic and pedestrians, rather than waiting for a protected green arrow, though two of the left-turn movements will be delayed due to construction issues.
Why It Matters: Left turns should take less time during lighter traffic periods, potentially reducing vehicle idling and emissions by 9% to 12% according to city estimates.
