The mornings feel just a little cooler, but September in El Dorado Hills still has that golden summer glow. Town Center is buzzing with events this week, from live music to runs to bingo with a boozy twist.

We’ve also got some big local news: a long-awaited sushi arrival and a playground rebuild that will need all hands on deck. Whether you’re chasing good eats or good company, this week delivers plenty of both.

A Long-Awaited Sushi Arrival

After years of driving to Folsom or Fair Oaks, we finally have Mikuni Japanese Restaurant & Sushi Bar right in El Dorado Hills.

The new Town Center spot delivers the inventive rolls and lively atmosphere that made the brand a Northern California favorite. From signature creations to Japanese classics, it’s a sleek yet approachable setting that feels equally right for family dinners, date nights, or a celebratory night out.

Red Hawk to Host 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb

The Gist:
Red Hawk Resort + Casino will hold its annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb on Thursday, Sept. 11, at the resort’s parking garage. First responders will ascend together starting at 8 a.m. to honor the courage and sacrifice of those who served on Sept. 11, 2001.

Why It Matters:
This event gives the community a chance to stand alongside local heroes, remembering lives lost while honoring the resilience of those who continue to protect us.

Folsom’s Castle Park Rebuild Needs Neighbors

The Gist:
Castle Park, the beloved wooden playground built by volunteers in 1996, is closing for renovation this month. The $1.1 million rebuild will keep the castle theme but use durable Trex materials and modern safety features, with a community build planned in early 2026.

Why It Matters:
This project preserves a cherished landmark while giving today’s kids a safe, imaginative place to play, just as the original volunteers intended.
