There is something special about the way our town comes together for simple summer traditions, whether it is a morning stroll through Town Center or an open-air concert in the evening.

We are keeping things nice and practical this week with local business highlights, early ticket drops you will want to know about, and a few unique weekend events. Thanks for letting us be part of your weekly routine. Enjoy the read.

The old Purple Place site finally has a new name

The Gist: The former Purple Place building at 363 Green Valley Road is now showing new Lake House signage, giving one of El Dorado Hills’ most watched restaurant properties a clearer next chapter. The building has also traded its old all-purple look for a dark blue and white exterior.
Why It Matters: Locals have been watching that corner for years. The old Purple Place was more than a restaurant for a lot of EDH families, so seeing visible movement there is the kind of update people notice on the drive by.
EDH Brewfest is already gearing up for its next pour
The Gist: El Dorado Hills Brewfest is getting ready for its ninth annual sip-and-savor celebration at Town Center, with tickets now on sale for the late-summer event. The festival brings together regional breweries, cideries, wineries, food, and community energy in one of EDH’s most familiar gathering places.
Why It Matters: This is one of those events people mark early because it feels very Town Center. Even though the actual festival lands later, ticket news is useful now for anyone who plans around the bigger EDH social calendar.

A pub dinner that works for everyone

1010 White Rock Road, Suite 100, El Dorado Hills, CA
36 Handles Public House is one of those EDH spots that makes the group-dinner problem a lot easier. It has the relaxed pub feel, the beer list is clearly part of the point, and the food is built from scratch with enough range that nobody has to pretend they are fine with the one thing on the menu.
The name gives away the draw, but the kitchen is not just there for backup. The menu includes pub staples like pretzel bites, wings, spinach artichoke dip, burgers, a Goldminer Reuben, buffalo chicken, salads, and plenty of shareable things that make it easy to build the table around a few orders.
It is a good pick when you want casual, local, and lively without turning dinner into a project.

A gym with a real community feel

1235 Glenhaven Court, Suite 350, El Dorado Hills, CA
Our House Fitness feels like the kind of place built for people who want a gym without the big-box attitude. It is membership-based, locally rooted in El Dorado Hills, and set up so members can train independently while still having expert trainers available when they want guidance.
The studio leans into personal training, flexible fitness options, and a supportive environment where the goal is not just getting through a workout, but building something you can keep showing up for. That matters, because the hardest part of fitness around here is not finding a class. It is finding a place that actually feels like somewhere you want to return to.
If you have been meaning to get back into a rhythm, this is a good local name to know.
