OK but seriously, who else has already almost bought Halloween decorations? It’s not just the memes, something about late August makes us start craving pumpkins, cooler nights, and spooky vibes.

While we wait on the weather to catch up, there’s still plenty happening around town: live music at Theatre Plaza, LEGO day at the library, a tribute band lineup you’ll want to see, and a pup who’s up for a national award (we’re obsessed).

Fall mode might be mental right now, but we’re leaning in.

In today’s Scoop:

A little New York flavor in El Dorado Hills

2209 Francisco Dr #160, El Dorado Hills, CA

There’s a warm, neighborly feel at Big Apple Bagels in El Dorado Hills, where the staff greets you like a regular even on your first visit. The bagels are fresh, chewy, and satisfying, whether you’re grabbing a plain with cream cheese or going big with a breakfast BLT layered on a jalapeño-scallion smear.

It’s quick, convenient, and consistently friendly, the kind of small shop that makes mornings brighter and keeps locals coming back for their weekly bagel fix.

Brews, blooms, and lake views

4363 Town Center Blvd Suite 110, El Dorado Hills, CA

Boring Rose Brewing Co. is anything but boring. This lakeside brewery mixes award-winning craft beer with a light, plant-filled taproom and a spacious dog-friendly patio.

Locals love sipping hazy IPAs or crisp lagers while enjoying trivia nights, live music, and the warm staff. With custom seltzers, and even greenery you can take home, it’s a refreshing community hangout that feels like a true hidden gem.
