Is it just me, or did May decide to move at double speed? We are right in that sweet spot where the weather is perfect for being outside before the real summer heat settles in for good.

This weekend is a big one for the local riding community, as the bike park finally pulls back the curtain on its huge redesign. It is amazing what a community can do when they rally together to raise the funds themselves. I hope to see a few of you out there catching the pro demos or just enjoying the fresh trails.

Folsom Bike Park Reopens with a Bash

The Gist: The Folsom Bike Park celebrates its grand reopening Saturday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. After a full redesign by trail builders Randy Spangler and Greg Watts, the park now welcomes riders of every level. Expect pro demos, a jump jam, bike safety checks, and a community raffle.
Why It Matters: Locals rallied to raise more than $31,000 to rebuild this park, and now it's a regional destination right in our backyard.
What's Next: Show up May 16, bring a helmet, and follow Folsom Bike Park on Facebook for volunteer trail days.
Jackrabbit Hill Park Plan Heads to Council

The Gist: The Folsom Parks & Recreation Commission unanimously approved the Jackrabbit Hill Park Master Development Plan on May 5. The plan, shaped by community input, now goes to the City Council for final consideration. If adopted, it will guide the future design of the neighborhood park.
Why It Matters: This is the blueprint for a new gathering spot built around recreation, wellness, and connection for Folsom residents of all ages.
What's Next: The City Council meets Tuesday, May 26 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 50 Natoma Street. Residents can also watch live online.

A steakhouse night done right

2085 Vine Street, Suite 101, El Dorado Hills, CA
C. Knight’s Steakhouse feels like one of those places you keep in mind for the nights when you want dinner to feel a little more like the event. It is the only steakhouse in Town Center, and the whole pitch is pretty straightforward in the best way: prime cuts, strong cocktails, local wine, and a room that leans warm instead of stiff.
The menu backs that up. The restaurant highlights USDA Prime and dry-aged beef, plus chef-driven sides, cocktails, and the kind of setup that works whether you are dressing it up a little or just ready for a better-than-usual dinner.
It is an easy recommendation for a Town Center night, especially if you want someplace that feels solid from the start and does not need much explaining.

A Sutter Street shop with heart

813 Sutter Street, Suite D, Folsom, CA
Burrow & Thread is the kind of shop that makes Historic Folsom feel a little more like itself. It started as an online handmade knitwear business and grew into a storefront built around household goods, gifts, candles, and artisan-made pieces from small businesses.
What makes it easy to like is that it does not feel mass-produced. The shop leans into handmade living, texture, comfort, and thoughtful little things you would actually bring home or give to someone.
If you are already walking Sutter, it is a very easy stop to add. And if you need a gift without wandering aimlessly for an hour, this is a pretty good answer.
Skip the Resort. Stay in a Centuries-Old Sicilian Village Instead.
Casa Gratteri offers beautifully restored homes in Gratteri, a hidden mountain town in Sicily with sweeping views, deep history, and zero crowds. Full concierge service, a private chef on request, and modern finishes throughout. This is the kind of trip people talk about for the rest of their lives.
