Granite House project moves forward in Folsom
The Gist: Folsom City Council unanimously approved an updated development agreement for Historic Folsom Station, clearing the path for the long-delayed Granite House project. The revised plan replaces ground-floor parking with restaurants and retail shops along the plaza, while reserving 32 parking spaces in the nearby city garage.
Why It Matters: Keeping the project within the historic district agreement helps preserve the neighborhood's charm and protects against large, out-of-scale developments allowed by recent state housing laws. Swapping out garage doors for dining and storefronts will bring fresh energy and foot traffic to our historic plaza.
Noe Leiva named Student of the Year
The Gist: Rolling Hills Middle School student Noe Leiva was honored as Student of the Year at the Sept. 9 Rotary Club of El Dorado Hills meeting. Teacher Ann Clark praised Noe for being attentive, kind, always willing to help her classmates, and giving extra time to educational and service groups outside the classroom.
Why It Matters: Recognizing dedicated young leaders like Noe highlights the incredible character and service spirit taking root in our local classrooms. It’s a wonderful reminder of the bright future being built right here in our neighborhood through hard work, kindness, and community support.
