Well hello again!
Look who's back! We're doing a little happy dance over here because you stuck around for issue #2.

Quick question while we have you:
What was your take on our first go at this? Anything that made you think "YES, more of this please"? Or maybe something that had you scratching your head? Seriously, we want the real talk. Hit reply and let us know what's on your mind.
We're on a mission to become that newsletter you actually want to open, the one that clues you in on the good stuff happening in El Dorado Hills and Folsom. New coffee shop? We're on it. Street fair next weekend? You'll know first. That weird construction project blocking your usual route? We've got the scoop.
Anyway, thanks for giving us another read. We promise we're just getting warmed up.
Catch you around the neighborhood.
In today’s Scoop:

The Gist: El Dorado Hills Soccer Club kicks off its Fall 2025 youth program Friday, Aug. 8, at Marina Village Middle School. Sessions run for 8 weeks at 4:30 PM or 5:30 PM. Players should wear shin guards, cleats or tennis shoes, and will get a program T-shirt on the first day. Bring a size 3 soccer ball and plenty of water.

Inspections Target Mussel Threat at Folsom Lake

The Gist: Agencies have intercepted boats contaminated with invasive golden mussels headed for lakes including Folsom, Tahoe, Berryessa, and Oroville. At Folsom Lake, inspections and 30-day quarantine rules are in place, or boaters can pay for hot-water decontamination before entry. These steps aim to keep the mussels from spreading beyond the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.
Why It Matters: Golden mussels can damage ecosystems and critical infrastructure, so prevention measures at Folsom Lake are key to protecting local waters. Read more here.
