A quick thank you to everyone who has been sharing the newsletter with neighbors lately. Our local community is growing every single week, and we love putting these guides together for you. This weekend has a great mix of high-energy events and relaxed neighborhood hangouts. You can catch some top 40 hits at Folsom City Lions Park, browse the auto fair, or take a stroller walk through Town Center.

There is plenty happening right in our backyard, so dive into the list below and go make some weekend plans.

Castle Park is finally ready for kids again

The Gist: Folsom reopened Castle Park after the completion of its renovation, bringing back one of the city’s most beloved playgrounds at 201 Prewett Drive. The city says the project preserved the spirit of the original community-built park while refreshing it for a new generation of families.
Why It Matters: This is one of those places locals have real memories attached to. A reopened Castle Park is not just a parks update, it is a little piece of Folsom childhood coming back into rotation.

The Gist: Folsom’s 2026–27 citywide operating budget took effect July 1 after City Council adopted the $308 million plan at its June 9 meeting. The city says the budget maintains core services while funding key infrastructure and long-term community priorities.
Why It Matters: Budgets can sound dry, but they decide what actually gets maintained, fixed, staffed, and built. This one touches the everyday city services people notice, from public safety and parks to roads and infrastructure.

A Town Center dinner with real flavor

2085 Vine Street #102, El Dorado Hills, CA
Bawarchi Indian Cuisine brings the kind of comfort that works especially well when nobody wants another predictable dinner. The Town Center restaurant focuses on traditional Indian favorites, with curries, biryanis, vegetarian options, and a big flavor profile that makes the whole meal feel a little more interesting than the usual weeknight default.
The best part is the range. You can go cozy with curry, lean into aromatic biryani, or build a table around a few vegetarian picks and share the whole thing. It is also a nice EDH answer for group dinners, because Indian food gives everyone something to point at and say, “Let’s get that too.”
If you are already in Town Center for a concert, market, or errands, this is an easy dinner stop to keep in mind.

An EDH boutique made for outfit hunting

1000 White Rock Road, Suite 500, El Dorado Hills, CA
Runway Boutique is a good stop when you want the outfit to feel a little more intentional. The El Dorado Hills shop leans fashion-forward without feeling intimidating, with women’s clothing that can move from daytime errands to dinner plans without needing a full closet reset.
The boutique has been described as a one-stop place for denim, dresses, day-to-evening looks, and quality brands at approachable price points. That makes it useful in a very real way, especially when you have something coming up and do not want to drive all over the region looking for one decent piece.
It feels like the kind of local shop you remember when you need a dress, a last-minute refresh, or a second opinion that is not your bedroom mirror.
