If you have noticed a bit more green around town lately, you aren't imagining it. St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner, and Folsom and El Dorado Hills are ready to celebrate with everything from potlucks at the senior center to green keg challenges at Red Bus Brewing.

Beyond the holiday festivities, we are keeping a close eye on the local business growth that keeps making our area better. This week, we are looking at a classic local pizza joint that finally landed in the Town Center and another beloved regional name that is on the way. It’s a good time to be hungry in EDH.
In today’s Scoop:
🥘 Scratch-made pies in Town Center.
🍵 Global tea blends at Tea Xotics.
🚂 Folsom’s big 200th railroad birthday.
🍕 Gold Dust Pizza expands north.

The Scratch-Made Slice El Dorado Hills Needed

4390 Town Center Blvd #130, El Dorado Hills, CA
The sauce alone has people reconsidering their lunch commute from Washington state. Formaggio Pizza Express landed in El Dorado Hills Town Center and immediately became the neighborhood's favorite, thanks to dough and marinara made fresh every single day.
The Mediterranean and Tikki Masala pizzas are crowd pleasers, the cauliflower crust wins over skeptics, and the wings have kids begging for a second week in a row. Women-owned, family-run, and genuinely good.

Chai in Kenya, Hibiscus on the Nile

4356 Town Center Blvd Ste 112, El Dorado Hills, CA
Tea Xotics in El Dorado Hills is a family shop where the tea obsession started somewhere far from California. Sisters Hannah, Lesley, and Renee learned their craft from Tea Masters in Darjeeling and Japan, sipped chai in Kenya, and sailed the Nile with hibiscus in hand.
Back home since 2010, they've been blending ever since. The Grass Skirt Matcha has serious fans, the Mumbai chai with honey has devotees, and the gourmet olive oils make it genuinely hard to leave empty-handed.

Folsom Throws a 200th Birthday Party for Railroad Visionary Theodore Judah

The Gist: Folsom marked Theodore Judah's 200th birthday and the 170th anniversary of the Sacramento Valley Railroad with a full celebration Wednesday. Elected officials rode a decorated Light Rail car from Sacramento along the original route, arriving in Historic Folsom to a crowd of era-dressed ambassadors, turntable demos, and Judah's original draft map of the town site on display.
Why It Matters: It's a reminder that Folsom's identity is deeply tied to railroad history, and the city clearly takes that legacy seriously.
Gold Dust Pizza Is Heading to El Dorado Hills Town Center

The Gist: Gold Dust Pizza, the family-owned Central Valley shop known for its scratch-made dough and loaded pies, is bringing a fast-casual Express spinoff to 2201 Francisco Drive, Suite 150. The El Dorado Hills location marks the brand's first Sacramento-area outpost, with a late April or early May opening on the horizon. Expect about 50 seats, TVs, and a streamlined takeout-friendly menu.
Why It Matters: A beloved regional independent is finally making the northward move Sacramento-area pizza fans have been waiting for.
