The mid-June stretch is officially here, and the local calendar is not showing any signs of slowing down. Between live theater at the Harris Center, casual business mixers, and morning strolls through the Town Center, there is a lot to keep track of right now.

Folsom is rolling out flashing yellow arrows
The Gist: Folsom’s flashing yellow arrow pilot program is set to begin the week of June 8. The city is adding the new signal style at select intersections to give drivers clearer left-turn guidance when oncoming traffic has the right of way.
Why It Matters: It is a small change that a lot of drivers will notice quickly. Anything that makes busy intersections easier to read is worth knowing before you are sitting there wondering what changed.
Historic Folsom’s farmers market has new management
The Gist: Sierra Oak Farms is taking over management of the year-round Historic Folsom Farmers Market in the plaza. The market has long been one of the easiest Saturday morning anchors on Sutter Street, with produce, local goods, flowers, and plenty of reasons to linger downtown.
Why It Matters: A good farmers market does more than sell vegetables. It feeds foot traffic into small businesses, gives the district a weekly pulse, and keeps Historic Folsom feeling lived-in instead of just looked at.

Riley’s on Sutter is the kind of downtown spot that works when nobody in the group can agree on one kind of food. It is right at the corner of Riley and Sutter, and it has that casual Historic Folsom feel where dinner can turn into drinks, or a quick bite can stretch into a full evening.
The menu has more range than you might expect from a Sutter Street bar and grill. There are wings, tacos, salads, flatbread pizzas, and bigger bowls like seared ahi, chicken marsala, chipotle honey salmon, and orange chicken. That makes it a good middle-ground pick when one person wants something lighter and someone else is fully committed to comfort food.
It is easy to like a place that does not make dinner complicated. Grab a table, order what sounds good, and let Sutter Street do the rest.
